Manhattan, KS – Kansas State bounced back to take a close victory against North Dakota, winning 38-35 with a last-minute touchdown.
The Kansas State offense had an impressive performance, accumulating 461 total yards and achieving 22 first downs.
Quarterback Avery Johnson threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns. His standout wide receiver, Jayce Brown, made 12 receptions for 109 yards and scored one touchdown. Running back DeVon Rice also had a strong game, rushing for two touchdowns.
In addition to Brown, Johnson connected for touchdowns with his receivers Jaron Tibbs and Joe Jackson.
On defense, linebackers Austin Romaine, Desmond Purnell, and Tobi Osunsanmi combined for a total of 22 tackles. Romaine led with 10 tackles, while Purnell and Osunsanmi each contributed 6. Defensive end Cody Stufflebean also made an impact with two sacks.
Kansas State will now shift its focus to Army, as they prepare to battle next Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN.
