UAPB Heading to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship By: Shahid Evans

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Track and Field team is headed to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship.

The men's team achieved a season-best time of 38.98 seconds in the NCAA West First-Round Regional. This team consists of Senior Dwight Henry, Senior Jared Sylvester, Freshman Avondale Smith, Sophomore Jordan Pierre, Senior Mohamed Soumare, and Junior Ross Walrond.

In addition to competing in the 4x100 relay, Pierre has also qualified for the 400m event by finishing in 7th place with a time of 45.32 seconds in the men’s 400m event.

The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship will take place from June 11th to June 14th at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Men's Day 1 will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, at 7 p.m. ET, streamed live on ESPN. Men's Day 2 is scheduled for Friday, June 13th, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
