Shedeur Sanders is unlikely to compete against the Philadelphia Eagles this Saturday due to an oblique injury.

Sanders suffered an oblique strain during throwing drills on Wednesday. Although he stayed during the joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles, he was spectating due to his injury. He’s unlikely to perform for Saturday’s preseason game.

Coach Stefanski wants to be smart with Sanders’ oblique injury and doesn’t want to risk anything with Sanders’ injury.

“So, unfortunately, going to put him down for a little bit here. We’ll treat it day-to-day and see how it responds. But, want to be smart because he’s a thrower- you can’t push that thing.”

Stefanski stated that Sanders will need to rest and must seek treatment to recover.

As the Cleveland Browns take on the Philadelphia Eagles this Saturday in Philadelphia. The Browns are likely to sit Sanders as he recovers, and depending on Dillion Gabriel’s hamstring, he’ll more than likely start if he’s healthy, with Tyler Huntley also taking reps during Saturday’s game.

Joe Flacco is not listed to compete in Saturday’s matchup against Philadelphia. Kenny Pickett is still recovering from a hamstring injury.
