Former sprinter from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Jordan Pierre, has transferred to the University of Arkansas to continue his sprinting career. Pierre recently placed third in the nation in the 400-meter event at the Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship. He also earned First Team All-American honors, recording a personal best of 45.44 seconds during the championship. This transfer to Arkansas represents an important step for Pierre as he seeks to compete at a higher level.

“It’s another chance to showcase my talents to the world,” Pierre said.

Pierre dominated in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). At the 2024 SWAC Outdoor Championship, he secured first place in the 400-meter event, contributed to a first-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, and achieved second place in the 4x400 meter relay.

In 2025, during the SWAC Indoor Tournament, he earned second place in the 400-meter event and placed second in the 4x400 meter relay. Continuing his success, Pierre achieved second place again in the 400-meter event and first place in both the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay at the 2025 SWAC Outdoor Championship.
